Wellness for Life - Cancer Recovery Program for Patients, Survivors and Caregivers
Incorporate a focus on mind, body, and spirit into your cancer care and recovery.
Wellness for Life is a cancer recovery program for patients, survivors and caregivers. In keeping with the Wellness For Life purpose of integrating wellness components into your cancer treatment, the AHN Cancer Institute and the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center have partnered with the YMCA of Greater Erie’s Glenwood location to make supportive, holistic classes and Y facility access available to cancer patients, survivors and their caregivers at no charge.
Wellness for Life program participants have unlimited access to amenities such as heated pools, low-impact strength machines, and 40+ in-person classes at any of our Y locations. Participants also have access to Y360, the Y’s new streaming platform. You’ll find popular LIVESTRONG workshops, as well as nutrition and holistic classes and guided meditations.
Research shows that by integrating physical activity, proper nutrition, and mind-body-spirit awareness, you can feel better and reduce the side effects of cancer treatment, such as nausea, depression, anxiety, fatigue, and weight gain.
We are committed to integrating wellness components into your treatment and helping you make healthy lifestyle changes. We want you to feel empowered to regain control over your cancer.
Qualified participants must obtain a signature from a cancer center employee to confirm eligibility. Qualifications and eligibility form can be found here >>> Wellness For Life Form
